During more than twenty years as a consultant and employee in the Puget Sound area, my career has focused on product development, sales & marketing, and business communications, primarily in high-tech industries. My clients have included Microsoft, Boeing, Weyerhaeuser, Ernst & Young, Price Costco, Blue Cross of California, and a variety of small and medium-size businesses.

I’ve worked at Web startups, managed product development teams, done market research, developed business relationships, created interactive computer-based training, marketed consumer products, sold IT services – in short, I have a broad background in high-tech business.

More recently I have worked as an executive at a small venture capital firm where we reviewed numerous investment opportunities. My experience at Big Garden Ventures has given me some very helpful insight into what investors are looking for when they read a business plan.

I am also a skilled writer and communicator. In the 1980’s I helped evangelize CD-ROM multimedia technology by writing numerous magazine articles, contributing to several books, speaking at various conferences worldwide, and managing the development of application prototypes. In addition, I’m the author of ECLIPSE, a popular science book on total solar eclipses, which enables me to lead tour groups to various parts of the world to witness these rare events.
